MEMORIAL BENCH
Yorktown, Virginia
In 2022 we traveled down to Virginia to build a bench as part of a memorial for a teammate of Liam’s from his college XC/track days who had tragically passed away in 2019. We brought our chainsaw mill and hand tools down from Massachusetts and milled and built the bench on site from an oak tree that had fallen on Ben’s favorite running trail. We designed a live-edged bracing with a tenon to leg bench top connection and burned the wood as a preservation technique to make sure the bench lasts for a long time out in the woods. It’s one of the most meaningful projects we’ve done to date and we’re grateful to have been a part of it.
